Concern for kids in care

I had a good time going door to door with Jon Gerrard last night. Many people we talk to voice their belief that it is time for change.

One woman who especially impacted me had been in foster care as a child. She told me about a home that she did not feel was appropriate or safe for her to have been in. Luckily, she did not stay there. She also shared with me how she has done well with her life; she is working, she is married, and she is a good mother to her kids.

I have high hopes for children in care, but my hopes rest on our ability to reform CFS to make it safer and more responsive to children’s needs.
